Stories from Palestine-Israel Talk
- All Saints Church, Kingston
- 27 Jul, 2025

Join the All Saints Church for this public talk on Palestine from the Very Reverend Nicholas Papadopulos Dean of Salisbury Cathedral.
Between January and April 2024, Nick spent three months’ sabbatical leave volunteering in occupied East Jerusalem with the World Council of Churches’ Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel, which he describes as ‘an overwhelming experience’. He monitored human rights, visited holy sites, worshipped in different churches, spoke with many people and many organizations, lived through the Muslim observance of Ramadan, and celebrated Holy Week and Easter in the city where Jesus died and rose again – all against the merciless backdrop of the war in Gaza.
Key points discussed in the talk:
- What is daily life under occupation really like?
- What are the implications for human rights and international law?
- What can be done to promote a just peace in Israel-Palestine?
